David Hobson became Interim Student Minister at Hueytown Baptist in November 2011.  Prior to his arrival at Hueytown he spent a short time as Interim Worship Minister at Grace Baptist in Montevallo after spending 2 1/2 years working in church plant student ministries in Hoover and Alabaster.  He began in Student Ministry as an Intern and Associate at Canaan Baptist and then as Student Minister at Raimund Heights Baptist respectively for 3 years each before getting involved in church planting.  

Working closely with First Priority he is involved with campus ministry at Hueytown Middle School and Hueytown High School.  He also served the 2010-2011 school year as Shelby Network President and volunteer Campus Minister at Bessemer Academy in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010.

David has also been involved with International Missions, taking part in 9 different international mission trips to Belize and Ecuador over the past several years.

He is a 2001 graduate of Hueytown High School.  Holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion from Samford University (2005), and a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (2010).  He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Some of his notable recognitions are writing 2 student ministry Bible Study/Retreat Curriculums, "Basic Training" (2008), and "Overcome" (2010).  He is also a vocalist that has sung before groups of as small as 5-10 to as large as about 1,000.

He is excited to be back in his hometown of Hueytown and all students are welcome in the student ministry at Hueytown Baptist Church.
